Feel the essence of the Pyrenees
Beginning the rides at 1150m we will be discovering the amazing landscapes of the Pyrenees mountains up to 2300m crossing the most impressive peaks, cattle meadows, high mountain forests and the traditional mountain villages where to enjoy and feel the way of living of over 100 years ago. It is a trail that crosses great ranges, going on their peaks so we can enjoy the Pyrenean scenery from alpine areas, deep valleys, high mountain lakes,water falls and rocky reliefs. A nature spectacle for the 5th senses!

This route is appropriate for experienced riders and for fit people used to walk on the mountains, because in some parts of this trail it will be required. Therefore, we only recommend you this trail if you are in a good physical condition!
PROGRAMME

Day 1. Arrival
You will arrive to L’Abella on the Pyrenees, a typical and small Catalan village in the middle of the mountains with stone houses. Before dinner, we will go over the week’s program. You will be told about the special characteristics of our Andalusian trail horses. You will be given an introduction to the week´s programme with an opportunity for a one-to-one conversation designed to find every rider their perfect horse. Then, you can enjoy a fantastic dinner
Day 2. The journey begins
4-6 hours
After an early start from l’Abella, we begin to climb up to the 3 peaks that will give us a first sight of the amazing mountain range crossing Puig Billici, Puig Cerverí and Black Stone Peak to descends to Querals by crossing several rivers and Vall de Nuria Valley.

Day 3. Up to the highest peaks and The Great Valley of the Pyrenees

Today we will meet for breakfast and for preparing our trail very early.
During this day, we are going to ride through an spectacular high mountain landscape, with peaks of 2600m and 2800m.. After lunch, we climb up to the Pic de l’Infern from where we can admire the beautiful lakes of Carança and the valley of Coma de Vaca. Our next step is Nou Creus peak, located in an altitude 2800m, our highest peak in this trail. Descend will be crossing Tossa’s neck to reach la Molina where we will overnight.

Day 4. Natural Park Cadí-Moixeró and Sanctuary of Falgàs

We will begin this day by riding across spectacular valleys with the outstanding views of the Cadí Moixerò Peaks like Pedraforca, and crossing mountain villages still charming as the first day. The Concret train and Museum and La Pobla del L’Illet village will lead us after crossing LLobregat River to the Sactuary od Our lady of Falgàs to overnight.
Day 5. Llobregat Falls and Castellar de n’Hug

Today, we will have a relaxing day with fast gallops and canters, going to ride across Catlleràs Mountain Range to follow Llobregat River to its origins “Llobregat Falls” at the charming village of Castellar de n’Hug
Day 6. The Ribes Valley and Back to the mountain of Ripoll
5-6 hours
Two great mountain Valleys, from the Ribes Valley we will be going to the Ripoll mountains in the Pre Pyrenees mountain range once again an impressive valley crossed by rivers, pine trees forest and Cattle and Montgrony range . We will be crossing the fields and pay attention, a few deer’s might come across… we will reach El Baell neighbourhood where will overnight.

Day 7.Back to l’Abella Serra Cavallera
5-6 hours
Today is our last riding day, we are going back to finish our loop to L’Abella by crossing Serra Cavallera mountains and with views over la Llagona lakes at the Gorgs Plain and with viws over Camrpodón Valley . Arrival into the Stables and Transfer to overnight at Setcases next to the Ter River, main River in Catalonia.

Pace: trail with long gallops, canters, trots.

Group:                 Minimum group: 4 riders

Maximum group: 10 riders

Guide: the guide will be Xavi Pastoret, an experienced and talented rider, always accompanied by an English speaking back up guide.

Horses:  Spanish, Hispano-Arabians, Arabians, Anglo-Arabian, Quarterback
